Louis VuittonEpi Envelope Pouch

Q: What can I fit inside the Louis Vuitton Epi Envelope Pouch?
A: With its compact size of approximately 18 × 13 × 1 cm, it comfortably carries essentials such as a slim cardholder, folded notes, coins, keys, a passport, and a lipstick or compact. It is best used for small items rather than bulky objects.

Q: Will my smartphone fit inside this pouch?
A: Due to the 13 cm internal height, most modern large smartphones do not fit. Smaller, slim models up to roughly 12.5–13 cm in height may fit without a thick case. Please compare your phone’s measurements with the dimensions listed here to be sure.

Q: Does this pouch have a strap or internal pockets?
A: This vintage model is designed as a handheld envelope with a single main compartment and a flap closure. It does not include a strap or built‑in card slots.

Q: What is special about Louis Vuitton Epi leather?
A: Epi leather is a textured, dyed‑through leather known for its structure, scratch resistance and water‑resistant properties. Introduced by Louis Vuitton in the mid‑1980s, it is prized for durability while maintaining a refined, understated look.

Q: How should I care for Epi leather?
A: Wipe the exterior with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry gently. Avoid harsh cleaners, oils or alcohol‑based products. Store the pouch lightly stuffed in a breathable dust bag away from heat and prolonged sunlight. Light Epi colours can be prone to colour transfer from dark denim or heavily dyed fabrics, so minimise prolonged contact.

Q: How do I clean the Alcantara lining?
A: Gently brush out any debris, then blot with a soft cloth slightly moistened with water. For marks, use a mild soap‑and‑water solution, dab (do not rub), and allow to air dry. Always test on a discreet area first and avoid soaking the material.

Q: Is this piece authentic and does it have a date code?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes multi‑point in‑house authentication. Many vintage Louis Vuitton small leather goods include a date code stamped along a seam or inside a pocket; codes were widely used from the early 1980s until 2021 and can fade with age. If present, we can help locate and interpret it for you.

Q: Where was this pouch made?
A: This particular piece is stamped France, as noted on the Country of Origin label.

Q: What accessories are included with this item?
A: This pouch is sold without accessories such as a dust bag or box. Everything included is always listed in the Accessories section—contact us if you would like us to confirm what is included.
