Q: What does the 50 size mean?
A: The 50 size refers to its approximate dimensions of 50 x 50 cm. This makes it a smaller square scarf rather than a long wrap, ideal for wearing as a neckerchief, in the hair or tied to a handbag.

Q: How can I style a 50 x 50 cm scarf like this?
A: A scarf in this size is especially versatile. Popular ways to wear it include folded into a triangle at the neck, tied as a headscarf or hair tie, wrapped around a handbag handle, or knotted at the wrist for a playful vintage accent.

Please note that the majority of our items are vintage and therefore have tales to tell unless stated otherwise. Therefore, please look at pictures, descriptions and measurements provided as they give you the best idea of the story this item has to tell.

* Please note that when you buy a vintage product, the dimensions may vary slightly from a new one depending on previous care and storage.

Q: What kind of Saint Laurent scarf is this?
A: This is a vintage Saint Laurent square scarf in cotton, featuring a multicoloured floral print, a navy blue border and a Yves Saint Laurent logo detail. Its compact format gives it a light, easy-to-style feel for everyday wear.

Q: Is cotton a good material for a scarf?
A: Yes. Cotton is breathable, lightweight and comfortable, which makes it a practical choice for regular wear. It tends to feel more relaxed and casual than silk, while still offering colour and pattern impact.

Q: Is this scarf suitable for warmer weather?
A: Yes. Because it is made from cotton and comes in a compact square format, it is well suited to spring and summer dressing. It can add colour to an outfit without the heavier feel of wool or cashmere styles.

Q: What condition is this scarf in?
A: This piece is listed in Very Good condition with a light trace of use. As a vintage second-hand item, mild signs of wear are normal and part of its character.

Q: How should I care for a vintage cotton scarf?
A: For best results, handle it gently. Light hand washing in cool water with a mild detergent is usually the safest approach for vintage cotton, followed by drying flat away from direct heat or strong sunlight. If needed, use a low iron setting with care.

Q: Does this item come with anything extra?
A: No. The product information for this item states that it comes with no additional items included.

Q: How do you authenticate vintage Saint Laurent accessories?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully vetted by in-house experts. Authentication is based on a multi-point review of details such as materials, construction, branding and overall craftsmanship.
