CelineDrawstring Leather Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Céline Drawstring Leather Bag?
A: With approximate dimensions of 33 × 27 × 16 cm, it comfortably holds a long wallet, smartphone, keys, sunglasses case, a small cosmetics pouch, a compact umbrella or 500 ml bottle, and a small tablet/e‑reader. A4 documents fit vertically; a slim folder may be snug. Most 13-inch laptops are unlikely to fit comfortably—please compare your device’s measurements to those listed here.

Q: Can it be worn crossbody?
A: It features a single adjustable shoulder strap with an approximate 23 cm drop, which is best suited to shoulder carry. For most people this drop is too short for true crossbody wear.

Q: How secure is the drawstring closure day to day?
A: A drawstring provides an adjustable opening and everyday security when fully cinched. For crowded settings, keep the opening toward your body and place valuables inside a zipped pouch or interior pocket if used, for added peace of mind.

Q: Is the strap detachable or replaceable?
A: The strap is adjustable but not detachable. If you ever need length adjustments beyond the buckle holes or a repair, we recommend consulting a reputable leather-care specialist.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything that comes with the bag is listed in the product information section on this page. If an item such as a dust bag isn’t listed there, it is not included. This listing shows no additional items.

Q: How should I care for the leather exterior and suede lining?
A: For the leather, wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove surface dirt and allow it to air-dry away from heat; avoid prolonged sun, moisture, and oils. Store stuffed in a breathable dust bag to help maintain shape. For the suede lining, use a suede brush to lift the nap and a dedicated suede eraser for light marks; avoid liquid cleaners and spot-test any product first. Seek professional care for stubborn stains.

Q: How can I check the bag’s production details on a Céline piece?
A: Many Céline bags include a date code inside: typically one letter, two letters, and four numbers (often on a small leather tab or embossed into the lining). The code indicates production details but isn’t unique like a serial number. Placement varies by style and season.

Q: Does the logo tell me anything about the era?
A: Yes. In September 2018 the brand removed the accent from “Céline” to become “Celine.” An accented logo generally points to pre-2018 production, while accent‑free logos indicate post‑2018, noting that some vintage pieces from the 1960s also appeared without the accent.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully examined by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, logo typography, and date codes. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and can share additional photos or details on request.
