HermèsCables Maillons Cashmere Scarf

Q: What material is the Hermès Cables Maillons scarf made from?
A: This is a cashmere scarf. The Cables Maillons design features a textured knit with cable and chain-inspired motifs, rather than a printed silk finish.

Q: What colour is this scarf?
A: This particular scarf is listed as grey, making it a versatile option for pairing with neutral or more colourful outerwear.

Q: What are the measurements of this scarf?
A: The listed measurements are approximately 235 cm long and 35 cm wide. These are the measurements for this particular pre-owned piece, which may differ from other versions of the Cables Maillons scarf.

Q: What condition is this scarf in?
A: This scarf is in Very Good Condition, with light traces of use. It is a pre-owned piece rather than a new item; please review the product photographs alongside the condition description before purchasing.

Q: Does this scarf come with its original box or other extras?
A: No additional items are included with this scarf, as stated in the product information. An original Hermès box is therefore not included.

Q: Can I wash this cashmere scarf at home?
A: Hermès recommends entrusting the Cables Maillons scarf to a professional dry cleaner when cleaning is needed. Follow any care label attached to this particular piece and choose a cleaner experienced with delicate cashmere rather than machine washing it.

Q: How should I store the scarf between wears?
A: Store it flat and untied, folding it gently as needed rather than leaving it knotted. Keep it in a clean, dry place away from direct heat and sunlight, and avoid hanging it for long periods.

Q: Can cashmere develop pilling, and how can I minimise it?
A: Cashmere can develop small bobbles where the fibres rub against clothing or bag straps. Reduce repeated friction from rough fabrics and let the scarf rest between wears. If bobbles appear, avoid pulling them off; ask a cashmere specialist about gentle removal. The condition description for this scarf notes light traces of use but does not specifically report pilling.

Q: How can I protect the scarf during everyday wear?
A: Avoid contact with rain, water, perfume and other chemicals. Be mindful of jewellery, zips and rough surfaces that could catch the knit, and handle the scarf gently rather than pulling it tightly through knots.
