GucciGG Small Marmont Top Handle Bag

Q: What can the GG Small Marmont Top Handle fit day to day?
A: With dimensions of approximately 26 × 19 × 10.5 cm, it comfortably holds a smartphone, small to medium wallet, keys, sunglasses in a soft case, and a few cosmetics. It is not designed for A4 documents or a laptop; a slim mini tablet may fit depending on its case. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact sizing.

Q: Can I wear it crossbody as well as by the top handles?
A: Yes. It has dual top handles for hand or crook-of-arm carry (approx. 8 cm drop) and a detachable shoulder strap with an approx. 50 cm drop. On many body frames this works as a shorter crossbody or a comfortable shoulder carry, though it will sit higher on the torso. Strap length is not adjustable on this piece.

Q: How is the interior organised?
A: The bag features a floral print satin lining with a central zipped compartment and two slip pockets, making it easy to separate essentials like a phone, cardholder, and keys while keeping valuables secure.

Q: Is the exterior denim durable and how should I care for it?
A: The light blue matelassé denim is hardwearing for daily use, but like all light fabrics it benefits from gentle care. Avoid prolonged contact with dark or unwashed denim and richly dyed garments to minimise colour transfer, keep away from moisture and oils, and wipe with a dry, soft cloth after wear. Store loosely stuffed to maintain the quilting.

Q: Will the light denim pick up colour from jeans?
A: Colour transfer can occur with light materials when rubbed against dark denim or damp fabrics. To reduce risk, avoid direct friction with freshly dyed clothing, rotate where the bag rests against garments, and promptly wipe the surface with a clean, dry cloth if transfer is noticed.

Q: How should I look after the pearl-embellished GG hardware and gold-tone finish?
A: Handle the hardware with care and avoid impact against rough surfaces. After wear, gently wipe metal and pearls with a soft, dry cloth to remove fingerprints and moisture. Do not use alcohol, abrasives, or jewellery cleaners on the pearls or metal finish.

Q: Does this bag have protective feet and what are they for?
A: Yes, it has protective feet at the base. These help reduce wear when you set the bag down and aid the bag in standing upright when stored properly.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything that comes with the bag is listed under the product information on this page. If a dust bag, box, or card is not mentioned there, it is not included.

Q: Is this piece authentic and how do you verify it?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is thoroughly examined by our in‑house experts using multi‑point checks of materials, stitching, hardware, stamps, and internal coding. Gucci bags may feature internal serial numbers and, on some newer items, NFC authenticity tags; numbers alone do not confirm authenticity, so our assessment considers the bag as a whole. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell.

Q: Where is this bag made?
A: This Small Marmont Top Handle was crafted in Italy, as indicated under Country of origin.
