Louis VuittonEpi Soufflot Bag

Q: What size is this Louis Vuitton Epi Soufflot Bag, and what fits inside?
A: This bag measures approximately 30.8 x 15 x 14 cm. Its structured barrel shape is roomy enough for everyday essentials such as a phone, small wallet, keys, sunglasses, cosmetics, and other compact daily items. Please use the measurements on this page as the best guide for capacity.

Q: Can this bag be worn on the shoulder?
A: The Soufflot is designed with dual flat handles and a relatively short drop of about 16.5 cm on this item. Depending on your frame and what you are wearing, it may sit very snugly on the shoulder, but it is generally best suited to hand carry or carrying in the crook of the arm rather than as a true shoulder or crossbody bag.

Q: Does this item come with the matching pouch?
A: Yes. This piece includes a removable matching mini pouch, and the product information for this listing also notes a dust bag. Everything included with the purchase is shown under the product information on this page.

Q: What is Epi leather, and is it durable?
A: Epi leather is Louis Vuitton’s signature textured leather, known for its structured feel and good day-to-day durability. Buyers often choose it for its refined look, resistance to everyday scuffs compared with smoother leathers, and its ability to hold shape well over time.

Q: Is the Soufflot a structured bag?
A: Yes. One of the Soufflot’s defining features is its neat, cylindrical silhouette, which gives it a polished and structured look. It is a great option if you prefer a bag that keeps its shape rather than collapsing when set down.

Q: Is the top opening easy to use?
A: Yes. The top zip opening is designed to give practical access to the interior, and the Soufflot is generally appreciated for being easier to get in and out of than some more rigid vintage styles. As with most structured bags, packing it with smaller items rather than bulky pieces will make access more comfortable.

Q: What condition is this specific bag in?
A: This item is listed in very good vintage condition. The exterior shows light traces of use with some discolouration and minor marks, the interior has minor stains, and the hardware shows scratches and discolouration. Reviewing the photos alongside the condition notes will give the clearest picture of the bag’s current state.

Q: How should I care for vintage Epi leather?
A: Epi leather is relatively low maintenance. Wipe it gently with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth, avoid overfilling the bag, and keep it away from prolonged heat, strong sunlight, and heavy moisture. When not in use, store it in its dust bag and lightly stuff it to help maintain the shape.

Q: Does this bag have a serial number or date code?
A: Vintage Louis Vuitton pieces typically have a date code rather than a unique serial number. For this specific listing, no serial number is stated in the product information. If you would like confirmation of any interior markings, it is best to request additional product information before purchase.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale is carefully checked for authenticity using detailed assessments of materials, construction, hardware, stamps, and other model-specific details. This helps ensure the bag is accurately represented as an authentic vintage Louis Vuitton piece.
