ChanelCaviar CC Timeless Bowler Bag

Q: What typically fits inside the Chanel Caviar CC Timeless Bowler Bag?
A: With measurements of approximately 28 × 18 × 11 cm, it comfortably holds a continental wallet, smartphone, sunglasses, keys, a small cosmetics pouch and a slim water bottle or compact umbrella. The structured shape and triple‑compartment layout help keep items organised. Capacity varies by how you pack; please refer to the Measurements and photos on this page for guidance.

Q: Does it have a shoulder strap?
A: This example is designed to be carried by its dual rolled top handles and does not include a long shoulder strap. The handle drop is approximately 19 cm. Please see the product information section for everything included with this piece.

Q: How is the interior laid out?
A: As photographed, this Timeless Bowler features one main open compartment flanked by two zipped compartments, with a beige fabric lining and an internal slip pocket. This practical layout keeps daily essentials easy to access yet secure.

Q: Is caviar leather durable for everyday use?
A: Yes. Chanel’s caviar is a grained calfskin known for its textured, scratch‑resistant finish and ability to hold structure well, making it a popular choice for frequent wear. Proper care still matters to prevent stains and preserve the finish.

Q: How should I care for the white caviar leather?
A: Avoid overfilling and prolonged contact with dark denim or garments to minimise colour transfer. Wipe the surface occasionally with a soft, slightly damp, colour‑fast cloth and let it air dry. Store the bag upright, lightly stuffed, in its dust bag, away from direct sunlight and heat. For deeper cleaning or dye‑transfer removal, consider specialist leather care or a professional service.

Q: What does the serial number 12029180 mean?
A: The 12‑series serial code typically dates this piece to around 2008–2009. The serial sticker helps indicate the production period but, on its own, is not definitive proof of authenticity.

Q: Where was this bag made?
A: This piece bears a made in Italy stamp. Chanel produces bags in both France and Italy; country of origin can vary by season and style.

Q: Do the handles fit over the shoulder?
A: With an approximately 19 cm drop, most users carry this style by hand or in the crook of the arm; it may sit on the shoulder over lighter layers depending on your build, but it is primarily a handheld design.

Q: What is included with this item?
A: Everything included is listed under the product information section for this page. For this piece, that includes a dust bag and its serial number tag. If an item such as an authenticity card or box is not listed there, it is not included—feel free to contact us if you would like us to confirm.

Q: How do you authenticate this bag?
A: Every item at A Retro Tale undergoes a multi‑point inspection by our in‑house experts, including checks of materials, stitching, quilting, logo stamps, hardware engravings and the serial sticker. We stand behind the authenticity of all items we sell and are happy to provide additional details on request.
